According to BBC News Venezuela’s government has introduced a
two-day working week for civil servants, who will show up at work only on
Mondays and Tuesdays due to the serious energy crises in the nation. This
implies that there will be no work for civil servants on Wednesdays, Thursdays
and Fridays.
Water levels in its main hydroelectric dam have reduced
dramatically, which is making Venezuela to face a major drought.
This new policy which was announced on national television
by Mr Isturiz, will affect two million public sector workers.
Some measures have been adopted in order to tackle the
energy crises such as shopping centres to reduce their opening hours and
generate their own energy.
