"That's
how my MONSTER truck refused to start or move... On Saka Tinubu. Akin Adesola.
Adetokunbo ADEMOLA... Do I need to mention that the truck just came from a
workshop (Not A ROADSIDE MECHO!!!) where it went for servicing. The workshop
called to say it was OK TO DRIVE. And sent their bill.
Now The car has stopped
me a few times. It's not starting and the battery terminals are bad, so I am
stuck in traffic. The guy is apologizing and blaming his technician. I'm just
praying that LASTMA will come & tow it, charge me for obstruction and I can
send the bill to the Workshop.
The interesting part of this is non of this is
the fault of the mechanic in the eye of the public and people who drive pass.
Come and hear insults. "Useless Bigman, driving car wey dey break
down", "Na by force to drive big motto?", "Abeg commot for
road make we pass o", "Upon all the money him dey charge him car
still dey break down", "Good for you, if Na person Na he go yabb
am", "Is that not Ali Baba?" "OLOWO oshi!"
"Lobatan. NOW THIS IS MY TAKE.
1. My name is on the number plate.
2. The
vehicle is unmissable.
3. It just came from the Mechanic Workshop.
4. The fuel
pump the workshop just fixed is not reflecting fuel status.
5. I was the one
driving.
6. Broken down vehicle will disrupt your plans.
7. It can be
embarrassing.
8. There is no drop of fuel in the car yet it says half tank...
So when someone fails to deliver service you paid for, doesn't that count as
breach of contract? Not to mention all the inconvenience. But as we all do in Nigeria,
we just sort it out and move on. Abi"
