Shoprite to launch in Port Harcourt as Duncan Mighty's construction company gets the contract

Shoprite the multinational mega retail supermarket that sells goods at the lowest prices in Nigeria, is set to make its entry into the oil city of Nigeria, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

It has been long overdue for Shoprite to be in Port Harcourt, after opening its stores in Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Jos, Warri and Calabar.

The residents of Port Harcourt were surprised when Shoprite opened in Warri first, before thinking of Port Harcourt, but however they will launch in Port Harcourt soon, which is giving them great joy.

At the moment, Shoprite is constructing a mega supermarket in Ota, Ogun State, but with the way things are going, the Port Harcourt outlet might be ready for launch before the Ota outlet.

Shoprite adds flavour to its shopping experience by introducing entertainment to its esteemed customers by including the Cinema center, which is present in Ikeja City Mall in Lagos and Delta Mall in Warri.

As is the custom of foreign organizations, they will need to get approval from the Government of the state before they get the site were construction will be made. In the case of Port Harcourt, Shoprite management had to meet with the Executive Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, who has approved the business to be established in Port Harcourt.

The construction of Shoprite in Port Harcourt has been awarded to Mighty N Mighty Construction, which is owned by Port Harcourt based Pop Singer Duncan Mighty. Mighty N Mighty Construction, that uses vibrated water proof blocks, is the number one concrete and molding company in Port Harcourt, which also has the contract to build Everyday Emporium in Owhipa Choba, Rivers State.
