By 2020 Aliko Dangote’s Lagos Oil Refinery Will Be Begin Operations
In recent times Nigeria which is a top explorer of crude oil has faced certain challenges in refining the products as the refineries have become non-functional which has led to the exporting of crude oil to other countries without refining them.
As Aliko Dangote's oil refinery is getting close to the completion phase, the refining of Nigeria's crude oil outside the country will be a thing of the past.
It has been revealed that Dangote's refinery which is located in Lagos will commence full operations in the year 2020 as it nears completion.
The oil refinery which is a $10 billion project, is owned by Africa's richest man Aliko Dangote who is on Forbes 100 list of billionaires worldwide.
The refinery which is set to be one of the largest in the world, will produce gasoline, diesel, aviation fuel which will also process 650,000 barrels of crude on a daily basis, but can be increased based on demand.
The facility will produce about 50 million liters of gasoline and 15 million liters of diesel, which will meet the demands of the locality and for exportation purposes.
The Dangote Group has been in discussions with oil giants such as Royal Dutch Shell Plc, Vitol Group and Trafigura Group Pte in order to supply refined products to them.
This will in turn lead to a massive employment and increase in the GDP of Nigeria.
