Election 2019: Rivers State People Flee Abonnema For The Fear Of Election Violence

Killings rocked Abonnema Rivers State on Saturday 23rd February 2019 while people went out to perform their civic duties at the Presidential and National Assembly elections.

There was the automatic machine guns  show off by unknown gunmen to disrupt the elections that day. Some people that went out to vote had their last breathe at the polling units, as the gunmen did not spare their lives. Some reports claim that a day after the election, dead bodies were seen floating on the Abonnema river.

Today residents of the Abonnema community were spotted carrying their belongings and queueing up to enter boats in a bid to cheat death, after two soldiers were killed.

If these number of people are leaving who will stay back to vote?
