China is the third
largest market for the Cadillac brand, and in addition to that, the mother
company General Motors opened an automobile plant for Cadillac in Shanghai last
year, which showcases the company’s most modern production engineering, using
robots for welding and movement of vehicle parts.
The younger generation
seem to have fallen in love with the American luxury brand. The average age for
a Cadillac buyer in China is 30 years, compared to that of the United States
which is 50 years.
The Cadillac vehicles sold in China last year were more than the ones sold in the United States, meaning that the brand might be gradually getting more customers from China than its home country.
It is interesting to note that China sold about 39,000 vehicles in the first quarter of 2017.
At the rate of sales in China, it seems that in the long-term China will become the number one market for the Cadillac brand.
With the sales of Cadillac skyrocketing, it shows that the Chinese are deeply in love with the Cadillac luxury brand.
