Samsung granted the access to test driver-less cars on public roads

Driver-less car development is currently expanding to different parts of the world at a rapid rate, which means that very soon there might not be the need to drive a car, all that will be done is to select a destination and the car will drive itself without any assistance.

Automobile company ‘Tesla’ is well known for their interest in developing driver-less cars, however tech companies such as Google, Uber and Apple which was granted permission in California recently are also into the driver-less car development.

South Korean tech giant Samsung has joined the league of tech companies to test self-driving technology on public roads in South Korea, as it has been granted access by the Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

Samsung which is a major rival to Apple in the smart phone and tablets industry will develop and test software with the hardware. Samsung will not build driver-less cars from the scratch, but will use Hyundai cars for the test. Samsung will provide sensors and artificial intelligence technologies, equipping the cars with laser scanning and radar equipment's.

Do you think it is okay for tech companies to be involved in the development of self-driving future technology vehicles?
