The Mercedes-AMG is set to introduce a 53 series in its CLS line up. The new car will be branded Mercedes-AMG CLS53 making it the first in the new line of AMG 53 models, and is expected to go on sale mid-2018.
The CLS53 will be powered by a high-performance six cylinder engine codenamed M256. The engine will produce 430 horsepower, however it will be paired with an electric motor in a hybrid setup that boosts the car's power and efficiency. This is definitely a preparation for the future of electric cars 😉
The CLS53 as shown in the spy shot picture, is a four door styled like a coupe, which is designed on the Modular Rear Architecture (MRA) platform. It will be lighter, having a long wheel base, and a more bigger interior.
The 53 series will most likely have the E class version for the coupe and convertible models. The main thing to note here is that the engine will be offered as a V6.
