SEEDS TALK: MIND BOOST CONFERENCE PORT HARCOURT WAS ALL SHADES OF INSPIRATIONAL

The Seeds Talk a Mindboost Conference which was organised by Temitope Seeds at Emerald Hotels, Rumuola, Port Harcourt on Saturday 13th October 2018, was exceptionally breathtaking.

Before the event started, participants were encouraged to network with each other, then the event was opened by singing the national anthem of Nigeria. 

The convener Temitope Seeds made his opening remarks and used the opportunity to appreciate the speakers which includes: Tonye Briggs (Founder of Port Harcourt in Pictures), Goodluck Azunwena (Convener of Port Harcourt To The World campaign), K.O Baba (Ace Comedian), Christabel Altraide (Founder Recycle Port Harcourt City).

Temitope continued by saying that he started the SEEDS TALK at his fathers house in the living room to be precise, and stated that 8 individuals attended the first meeting. The first conference held in Lagos last year with an attendance of 153 people.

There was spoken word presentations and musical performances to keep the place fired up and lively.

Christabel Altraide the founder of Recycle Port Harcourt City spoke on the mind. She stated that what you become is more determined by how much you think. She gave some nuggets on how to keep a healthy mind which includes:

1. Having the fear of God via personal consecration in order to have a positive mindset.
2. Feed your mind daily with the word of God

Success is achieved through mental transformation. You should have a creative mind in order to project into the future. 

Your mind determines your value. You must transform your mind to get better results via a paradigm shift. Quality decisions is determined by quality information. You have to be careful of what you let into your mind. Every habit formed can be changed via certain actions. Guard your heart with all diligence. How far you go in life is determined by how much you know. The mind is the seat of wisdom. Knowledge delivers vision, wisdom helps you experience the benefits of that vision. Understanding helps you to see the reality of wisdom. You need to think, study, and act. Practice the act of separation from your group of friends that do not believe in reading, or going to church. The more you associate with them, the more they will keep messing up your mind. Be productive with your mind via going for research. Also be focus, learn form experts in your field and pray.

Obstacles to mental excellence

1. Accepting the status quo
2. Mental torture of the past: The value of today determines your future
3. Dwelling on your past achievements: You need to keep updating yourself
4. Despair and hopelessness: Depression is as a result of thinking too much on the wrong things. Find time to study the word of God.

She encouraged everyone to forget what the status quo is saying, in order to make progress. The mind guarantees your success in life. 💗

K.O Baba an ace comedian came to the event and spoke on CLICK THINKING. Read his presentation below:

Do you click what you think? You cannot be everything you think. The things you think can either end up as fantasy or fantastic. Develop a possibility mindset. First step in thinking is to make it visible. I have jokes on my phone that has not be presented yet. Thinking without clicking is a product of fantasizing. There is no time better than now. Now is the time to visualize things. Put a timeline. Some people think more on marriage, you think marriage is an achievement? 😂 Sacrifice for what you want, your satisfaction of tomorrow is tied to your sacrifice of today. Ask yourself everyday what you do everyday to make you better. If improvement is not continuous, it is contaminated. Understand the process for progress. Anyone who does not have what to offer in the market will suffer. If you decide to stay the same, you will face the shame.

The next speaker was Tonye Briggs, the biggest social media influencer in Port Harcourt, also the Founder of Port Harcourt in Pictures, popularly referred to as Port Harcourt Jagaban. Tonye talked about how Port Harcourt in Pictures has portrayed a positive view of Port Harcourt thereby showcasing the beautiful places in Port Harcourt via her Instagram page: @portharcourtinpictures. She talked about when she moved from Lagos to Port Harcourt and was searching for activities in Port Harcourt online but she kept seen the negatives lie militancy. So hat was when she decided to create a platform to showcase the positives of Port Harcourt. This initiative has attracted investors into the state via her online platform.

Goodluck Azunwena a brand strategist, entertainment and ICT consultant and the Convener of Port Harcourt To The World campaign, talked about how his platform was set up to show case the positives of Port Harcourt to the globe. He talked about the Guinness world record that his initiative attempts to break which is to have a 3 kilometer runway with over 50 designers and 500 models on December 22nd 2018. Goodluck continued and said that the name Port Harcourt To The World dropped on the eve of his birthday, October 4th 2016 to be precise, and laid emphasis on the self explanatory nature of the name. Through his initiative he has been able to partner with events to project a positive image of Port Harcourt to the international community. Also the first Fashion Mob Public 😃 was organised on December 24th 2016 at Port Harcourt Mall. He encouraged everyone to join in making history in December 2018 for the Fashion Mob Public Guinness World record attempt. He also used the opportunity to request for volunteers and gave the medium through which they can apply which is: www.portharcourttotheworld/volunteers and also encouraged models and fashion designers to join in.

Everyone that attended the Mindboost Conference got their minds boosted and are ready to conquer their world.
